What you’ll be doing
- Engage with cross-functional teams in hardware (design, architecture) and software (drivers, SBIOS/VBIOS, diagnostics, tools) to establish, document, and review the deliverables/requirements for the next bring-up and verification efforts.
- Lab based feature verification and feature integration. With every arrival of prototype silicon, the team must verify silicon and IP functionalities using a variety of hardware and software tools.
- Provide deep, technical debug analysis and solutions to the problems found in either silicon bring-up or during product testing.
- Production validation. Define and execute the production validation plan for AMD IPs. This stage of validation targets at testing the integrated hardware and software functionalities with all corners to ensure problem-free production.
What you should have
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field/discipline
- A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
- Must be participating in a registered co-op program
- Understanding and handling of basic lab hardware (scopes, multimeters, etc.)
- Fluent with PC’s (building a PC from individual components, installing OS/drivers, basic network configuration, etc.)
- Knowledge of fundamentals of logic design (for example, gates, registers, flops, timing, HDL)
- Programming in common scripting languages such as Python
- Experience with Linux/Unix an asset
