What you’ll be doing
- you will experience culture-in-action by participating in the Walmart Annual Shareholders’ Meeting and other events with Walmart associates from around the world.
- You’ll also benefit from leadership development, professional mentorship and technical training.
- Finance and accounting interns have exclusive exposure to the senior Walmart leaders, including CEO/CFO-level executives.
- Life-long relationships will be developed with other interns through company-wide events sponsored by the Corporate Intern Program. i.e. Community Volunteering, Distribution Center Tours, Store Tours, Community Events and our annual intern softball game against the executives. These activities allow you to learn more about Walmart and socialize with interns from across the company.
What you should have
- Students pursuing a BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Business, Strategy or other business-related fields will be considered (3.0 GPA or higher preferred).
- More important than the focus of your study is the horsepower you bring to the role:
- You must demonstrate the ability to grasp concepts quickly and make your presence felt.
- Intellectual curiosity is essential, as you have 10 weeks to be a student-of-retail, while adding value to your team.
- Your style must be forward and persuasive as you’re asked to solve real business problems with a high degree of complexity and ambiguity.
- Throughout the summer, you will be evaluated based on your performance across five metrics: Critical Thinking, Analytical Ability, Interaction/Communication, Leadership and Potential.
