What will you do as a Java Developer?
- On behalf of a global financial services organization, develop, create, and modify computer applications for the Risk, Finance, and Treasury (RFT) Technology team.
- Research, design, and develop computer and network software and specialized programs.
- Translate high-level solutions into high quality technical artefacts.
- Deliver enhancements to the empirical model framework platform.
- Revisit the architecture of the application to identify performance enhancement opportunities.
- Work closely with colleagues across Functions Technology to ensure the technical solution leverages common components, patterns and principles.
- Utilize DevOps to improve the quality and efficiency of delivery.
- Participate in support for existing implementation.
- Contribute to the definition of development standards, patterns and technique.
- Contribute to model and design storming sessions, sprint demos, planning sessions and retrospectives.
- Support the business in delivering its strategic objectives within the constraints of a regulatory environment.
- Drive the adoption of Lean and Agile techniques. Maintain a high quality set of documentation.
Qualification required for Java Developer?
- Requires minimum of Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field plus at least (2) years of experience in role offered, as a Software Developer, or related occupation.
- Must have two (2) years of experience with each of the following:
- Using Core Java to develop and support controls projects and designing Recovery and Resolution Planning (RRP), Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review (CCAR);
- Using Spring Framework (Spring Security, Spring LDAP, Spring MVC, Spring Boot) to provide authentication, security and handling for projects;
- Updating Java applications with Cloudera Distributed Hadoop (CDH) and Spark version upgrades and ensuring applications are working correctly;
- Storing and maintaining large datasets using Oracle and Liquibase;
- Using Impala and Hive to access and analyze data in databases; and
- Designing and developing RESTful (Representational state transfer) service interface using Spring MVC.
- Must have one (1) year of experience creating batch files to run schedulers in UAT and production using Microsoft batch schedulers.
